| Genesis
1:1-5 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and
void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the
face of the waters. |
In the beginning GOD...
|
Verse one tells us that God created. Only God can create and His creation was from nothing.
|
Verse two indicates that the earth was made of water. It is interesting that a drop of water suspended in space is without form, just as the earth was in its original condition.
| Verses 3 and 4 tell us about light. Since light is energy, and energy is governed by the laws of physics, these laws must also have been established on the first day. | |||
And God said that it was Good! |
In verse 5 God calls the first time period "day", the Hebrew word is "Yom". The statements made in this verse clearly indicate a reference to a 24 hour period of time. |
